Ice Races 2 & 3 to be held Jan 28 & 29, 2012 – ARE A GO

The Winter Driving/Ice Racing School and Race 1 were a great success; we were even treated to a helicopter circling the track and hovering at the end of the back straight!
Our thanks to the many volunteers and organizers who made the event happen, and all the participants who made the event both exciting and pleasant.

For Jan 28 and 29 we again need many volunteers, and we need you to arrive at 8:30 am Saturday to help set up the track, and just before 9 on Sunday. First on-track event is at 10:30 am, and we expect to be shutting down by 4:30 pm. Please contact Clem or Jed.

As usual, race and school dates are subject to weather and ice conditions, and alternate weekends may also serve as alternate dates.

Many thanks to all our volunteers, officials and organizers for the June Racing the Runways Event at CFB Edmonton, renamed rainin the runways for some reason or other!
Special thanks to Neill, Mark and Rick A. Mark B, Gunther and Vitor for their hard work on building the track Friday, Dominic for managing the Friday night crowd, Dave W and Barry M for running an excellent race school, Mike B and Brian for running the lapping sessions, Bob and John K for their help on Monday loading the barrels, Neill (again) and John for their excellent organizational efforts all weekend long, to name a few of all who contributed. Thanks to all.
Our hats off to Andy for keeping things running smoothly despite unbelievable weather conditions for racing, to Sue in timing for such a smooth operation, to Kathy who came back after Saturday’s excitement, and to Tracy and all the corner marshals and volunteers who stayed out there in the rain and kept us going. What a wonderfully dedicated group!

NASCC will hold a WCMA sanctioned race weekend at CFB Edmonton (Namao) on June 18 and 19.
 
Taking place at the same time will be driver lapping sessions on June 18 and 19, and a WCMA Race License School (Friday June 17 classroom session, Saturday June 18th on track session)

Due to base security you must register in advance, with a deadline of Tuesday, June 14th, 11 pm. You must also complete a base access request form for drivers, crew, any guests, corner marshals, safety and work crews, officials, and all others.

Registration and payment for participants in RACE, LAPPING, or RACE SCHOOL, can be found at the link below. You must register to participate as a driver.
