We are a go for a one weekend only ice race 2011 championship at Gull Lake (http://goo.gl/maps/QDeq) for February 26th and 27th. We currently have good ice conditions at Gull and a track is being plowed Thursday February 24th.

This event will be the only chance we get to ice race this winter so dig those cars out. We’ve currently got 23 committed entrants but the more the merrier! We require the support of both race workers and racers. As such there will be a gas fund distributed amongst all volunteers kind enough to show up.
We look forward to seeing you all out there bright and early Saturday morning!
Thanks,

February 26 & 27th – Ice Race 2011 Championship Weekend @ Gull Lake is a GO!
Winter racing update – Race 1 & 2 February 12th & 13th @ Castrol Raceway
After running a series of tests at Castrol today we’ve determined that we will in fact have two different useable race surfaces out there this year. There is a 3/8 mile flat pinched oval and a 1.3 KM road course that we will alternate between throughout the weekend. Format will be 4-6 car run groups with heat race style brackets to ensure even track time for all competitors.
Unfortunately due to a lack of lake we’re not going to be able to offer the same caliber of school we’re used to providing and as such have decided not to run a school this year. Competitors interested in racing this year that were needing to take this school can contact the NASCC executive and we will do our best to sort something out to get you racing. To our winter driving students – thanks for the support but our hands are tied as far as ice is concerned and we aren’t confident we could provide a proper school at Castrol.
We’re really going to need your support as competitors to make this event happen – so dig those cars out of the snow and get ready to race! We’ll see you all out there for Race 1 on February 12th bright and early. Look for a schedule and supp regs on the NASCC website in the next couple of days.
Thanks goes out to all volunteers thus far for their hard work in making this happen!
